2019 West Virginia Brownfield Conference – Morgantown, WV
This year’s annual West Virginia Brownfield Conference was held along the beautiful Monongahela River at the Morgantown Marriott Hotel and Conference Center. With our long history of helping bring these previously overlooked sites back to life in their communities, Moody was proud to be an exhibitor at the conference, in addition to being an attendant to the diverse selection of educational sessions.
The conference sessions held on September 11th and 12th were a blend of networking and learning for Leah Mistick, LRS and Matthew Mitchell, P.G. The WV Department of Environmental Protection (WV DEP) together with regulators from Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Virginia participated in the many of the sessions as both speakers and attendants, engaging the attendees in relevant and thoughtful conversations about regulations, reuse concepts, and permitting requirements. There were valuable presentations by fellow consultants, financing institutions, government and community groups, and non-profits all interested in redeveloping brownfield properties. The variety of perspectives, engaging conversations, and abundance of cutting-edge reuse ideas presented over the two days was inspiring, and it appears that great things are underway in West Virginia.
Moody would like to thank the WV Brownfields Assistance Centers (BAC) and WV Community Advancement and Development (CAD) for hosting the conference and can’t wait to touch base with the many friends and associates we made during next year’s conference in Huntington, WV!
