On August 13th and 14th, Moody brought all available employees from our five offices together to Toftrees Resort in State College, PA for our annual company outing. This is the company’s opportunity to celebrate and recognize the good work, anniversaries and achievements of our environmental, geologic and engineering professionals. On the evening of August 13th, the festivities started with a great dinner and remarks from Company President Jeff Walentosky, celebrating the success of the employees and the company. This included recognition of Katie Sasala, who recently celebrated 20 years with Moody. As part of that recognition, Katie received a plaque and Tissot watch to mark the occasion.
The evening transitioned into introductions to the company executives and shareholders to offer remarks and appreciation to our employees. As part of these remarks, this kicked off the annual tradition of trivia questions being offered by the management team for cash prizes. At the conclusion of the trivia, Moody Safety/HR Manager Logan Kind presented his annual Safety Award winners from each office. Congratulations to Danielle Claycomb (Athens), Elyssa Thornton (Meadville/Erie) and Amber Netherton (Washington/Morgantown) for embracing our continually improving safety culture at Moody!
Our final award of the evening was the annual President’s Award that is given to the Moody employee that best emulates our five company core values – Conscious, Commitment, Collaborate, Communicate and Celebrate. Our 2025 President’s Award winner, Jordan Sipos, offered some remarks in front of presenting the 2026 President’s Award to Cody Hearst, who is our Operations Manager at Moody’s new Morgantown, WV office.
After all of the awards were handed out and recognitions were made, Jeff Walentosky (in his noticeable pink shoes) gave his best Bob Barker or Drew Carey impression to play Moody’s version of The Price Is Right. Logan Kind made for a great assistant and announcer where he channeled Johnny Olson or Rod Roddy to tell our contestants to “come on down”. The contestants bid on a wide variety of prizes, where the winner was the closest bidder to the actual retail price, without going over. It was a very fun way to end the evening with our employees.
On Friday, August 14th, after a great breakfast served by the Toftrees Resort staff, Moody employees found their way out to various activities for the day. Whether it was golfing at Toftrees Resort, heading out for a spa treatment, taking a guided visit at nearby Penn’s Cave or just lounging by the pool, it was a day of fun for our employees.
We look forward to our next outing in August 2027 to celebrate with our great employees here at Moody and Associates!
