5/11/2026 – 4th Annual “Running of the Wools”!

On Saturday, May 9th, the 4th annual “Running of the Wools” was held on Main Street in Washington, PA to celebrate the agricultural and farming community of this region. In the 19th century, Washington County, PA was the #1 exporter of wool in the United States. It was a full day of fun, good food, crafts and plenty of things for the kids as the weather cleared up for the racing action. This year had special meaning to Moody. Every year, the Washington County Chamber of Commerce names it’s entrant after the Chairman of the Board of Directors. This year, Moody President Jeff Walentosky is Board Chairman of the Washington County Chamber. Thus, this year’s Chamber entrant’s name was “Jeff Woolentosky”. While “Jeff Woolentosky” made a valiant effort, he finished second in his heat and did not advance to the championship round. A great day on Main Street in Washington to bring the community together. Our thanks to the event organizers, especially Clay Gilgore from the Washington County Historical Society for putting together a great event!
