2/20/19 – US EPA Publishes PFAS Action Plan

On February 14, 2019, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) published a document titled EPA’s Per- and Polyfluoralkyl Substances (PFAS) Action Plan. PFAS are a group of synthetic substances that have been in use since the 1940’s and are found in a wide variety of consumer and industrial products. Recent governmental studies and investigations suggest that there is evidence that significant PFAS exposure could lead to adverse health effects. It is anticipated that significant action will be taken by the US EPA to address potential health and environmental risk in the months and years to follow.
